Fall
colors – shades of golden yellows, reds and oranges, sparkling in the bright
autumn sun, provide an explosion of breathtaking, living color in Gateway
Mountain. The mild climate, coupled with efflorescent leaves and
peaceful serenity, make the mountain a special place this time of year. Favorite activities
often include family picnics at the waterfalls, canoeing, fishing and
swimming in one of our two mountain lakes or perhaps just relaxing on a
deck and gazing at a star filled night sky, unobscured by light and noise of
the city.
Reaching elevations up to 3,000 feet, Gateway's climate remains
comfortable throughout the four distinct seasons. Residents enjoy pleasant
days and a noticeable temperature drop at night.
Gateway Mountain is located 25 miles east of Asheville and a short distance
south of the quaint town of Old Fort, North Carolina. Gateway Mountain can best be

the control of the Gateway Mountain Property Owners Association.
The community is comprised of 3,000 acres of lush forest and is a noted conservation area and
