Reaching elevations up to 3,000 feet, Gateway's climate remains comfortable throughout the four distinct seasons.  Residents enjoy pleasant days and a noticeable temperature drop at night.

Gateway Mountain is located 25 miles east of Asheville and a short distance south of the quaint town of Old Fort, North Carolina.  Gateway Mountain can best be described as a mature, solidly established, 28 year old community, under the control of the Gateway Mountain Property Owners Association.  The community is comprised of 3,000 acres of lush forest and is a noted conservation area and wildlife sanctuary. Gateway Mountain provides the perfect, uncomplicated mountain lifestyle and is ideal for a primary residence, vacation home or active place of retirement.  Its location makes all of Western North Carolina's abundance of attractions and outdoor activities easily accessible.
